Construction
Post-Construction Clean Up
PHASE I - ROUGH CLEANING:
This is the first stage of a post-construction clean, and involves removing any debris and the major sources of dirt. Following a rough clean, the property will still be dirty by ordinary standards, but the majority of the mess will be gone.
-
Remove any remaining construction debris
-
Tackle stains and spots such as joint compound and caulking splashes and adhesive residue
-
Remove any stickers on glass or appliances
-
Sweep and vacuum floors
PHASE II - DEEP CLEANING:
Once the all trades have finished, we can go back over the property and conduct a more thorough clean to remove all the remaining dirt. Although it might seem to be creating more work to do a post-construction clean in two phases, it’s actually more effective. Even with the most careful cleaning, dust will still get moved around and end up settling after the first phase, so it makes more sense to clean all the major dirt and then start over to ensure everything is truly clean. During a deep post-construction clean, we start at the farthest point from the exterior and work down and out.
-
We pay particular attention to kitchens and bathrooms, windows, glass doors, and shower cubicles
-
Wash and dust walls, doors, baseboards, and cabinets
-
Dust light fixtures and wipe down bulbs using a soft, dry cloth
-
Use a vacuum cleaner to extract dust from vents and HVAC filters
-
Vacuum carpets and clean floors

Sorry, Not Included!
Outside Windows
-
We don’t carry equipment and aren’t insured for cleaning outside windows. If there’s dirt or grime on the outside, let us know. We’re always happy to refer to a business we know and trust.
Severe Stain Carpet Cleaning
-
We offer basic carpet cleaning without a stain guarantee. For serious carpet stains, please contact a carpet cleaning specialist. If you’re looking for a referral, we’d be happy to provide one!
Cleaning Inside Dishwashers & Washing Machines:
-
If a washing machine needs cleaning, add one cup of white vinegar and run a cycle on hot. Once complete, run one more time to remove any leftover vinegar. Then, wipe away any leftover particles.
Heavy Objects:
-
Our cleaners aren’t able to lift or move heavy objects. If the home needs cleaning behind appliances or heavy furniture, please make accommodations to get these moved ahead of time for everyone’s safety.
Odor removal & remediation:
-
Removing strong odors from animal waste, smoke, mold, or anything else that may require remediation may not be something we can do. Please talk to us for consultation!
Pet Hair on upholstery, furniture, & everywhere else:
-
We love pets, but their hair offers unique challenges. Pet hair removal from areas like upholstery, drapes, or furniture requires special equipment and additional time. While we don’t have extra fees for general pet hair clean-up, we’ll do our best to get up what we can. That said, it’s not uncommon, especially with cat hair, to resettle after sweeping or vacuuming.
Unloading the dishwasher:
-
We’re always happy to clean dishes and load the dishwasher. However, we’re not able to unpack and put away dishes. We don’t put dishes away because, while doing so, we’re likelier to break dishes (never fun). More importantly, we never 100% know where they go. Not putting dishes away helps us avoid the missing prized coffee cup that shows up in the wrong cupboard two weeks later.
